What to look for when shopping for a Microwave?

??? Afaik that's not how microwaves work, same thing as cell signal radiation myths.

Yes, microwaves work by bombarding the food with radiation. And yes, that radiation can be harmful to humans.

But the grate on the front of the microwave does a good job filtering and, even if you never even closed the door, the difference between the radiation hitting you and the radiation hitting the food is like when you use a magnifying glass to burn things. It's just too spread out once it leaves the microwave.

Of course, as far as I know it's not ionizing, but it does transfer quite a bit of energy when it's concentrated.

"Do as I say, not as I do."

-Because you actually care if it makes sense.

Which is what I mean, virtually harmless to us.

If the microwave doesn't weigh 90 pounds and hold 3ft^3 and cook everything in one minute it's not the right one.
