You didn't "just install Linux", because "Linux" doesn't exist. What you did, what install a distribution of Linux, and some play nicer than others with UEFI BIOS.

Now, having said that, which Distro did you install?

And if you don't press the key sequence you described, what happens instead?

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Oh boy, so a LINUX distribution is somehow not LINUX? The guy came here looking for help, not a freaking lecture over what is and isn't Linux. This is half the reason why people avoid Linux, because of the enthusiasts, talking with adenoids and saying "Well Ackshually......"

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

I didn't say a Linux distro didn't exist,I pointed out he didn't tell us *which* distro he installed, and just said he installed "linux" which isn't helpful, but they are not all the same. It's a critical piece of information that is missing, and could prevent us from helping him.

If he installed Ubuntu 9.04, for example, on a UEFI system, then there is the issue, 9.04 doesn't support that style of BIOS, but we'd never know it, because he didn't tell us.

Details matter when dealing with *nix
