Searching for good server cpu

You can get a LGA 1155 mobo and put some Xeon E3 V2 in it.

E3 1230 V2 is a nice choice and also the most common one. Clock speed isnt that high at just over 3GHz, but it has hyper threading so it's comparable to a fast i5. Dont get 1220 v2, same thing as an i5 and cheaper, the worst value among Xeon E3s.

150 euro is enough for an i3-8350k, and that's the chip itself, only.

Alternatively - used i7 2600 dell? Those can be quite cheap and should be decent.

Xeon e5649@4.4 GHz on Asus Rampage II Extreme or Gigabyte x58a-OC (whatever I feel like to set up at a time) , 6x4 GB Kingston HyperX 1600, Gainward GTX 670 Phantom, Samsung 840 Evo 240 GB, BeQuiet L8 530W

Really you could probably run it on a pentium processor, They wouldn't need much power. Maybe look for a core2 Duo machine to use,

Just search for Dell i7 2600 on ebay, as long as it isn't the 2600S (2.8 instead of 3.4 GHz) they should be decent for a gameserver. They cost a bit more than 150€, but you don't need to buy anything else besides possibly more RAM which you could buy later.
