I tried changing my dell N5010 CPU (Pentium P6000) with a I5-3320M to see if they were compatible as I found mixed answers on the internet. The pentium CPU uses the PGA988 socket while the I5-3320M uses FCPGA988, hence my question. Anyway when I turned it on I got 3 short beeps with a black screen, according to my research that means "Failure in first 64k". I swaped it back to the P6000 and it booted as expected.

This only brought more questions, what are the differences between those sockets? is there a way to fix this issue? will it eventualy work?

It's not supported. P6000 was Arrandale, which is gen 1 of the Core i architecture. Meaning that Ivy Bridge i5 you bought won't work at all since the motherboard won't recognize it. Ever.
