Game server

Hi, I'm new to this stuff and I need to make a server machine for hosting game servers(Don't starve together and Unturned, both games not needing much performance and ram to host nice servers) with max 30 players combined and a couple of light mods. Each DST player needs 65mb ram and Unturned idk. Location: Europe, Lithuania, not a very good place, but i will be mostly playing with europeans and friends. Budget 350-400 Euro. Any help with about what cpu, memory, motherboard and cooling I need is super helpful. Thanks!

Well hello there fellow baltic person. :D

Get a cheap single socket ATX LGA1366 motherboard, a Intel xeon X5660 perhaps ( 6 cores, 12 threads at 3GHZ) a LGA1366 compatible tower cooler, a case that can handle mostly everything, and 3x8gig non ecc dimm's, preferably a lower end GPU, for example a GT630 that's like 50-60 eur, and a 500W PSU that has 24+8 pin headers. the storage is up to you to choose.

ebay DE is full of that stuff.
go and have a look.
a X5660 goes for like 40 EUR, and here you can consider the price to performance ratio instead of building on a newer platform for example.
All of my render farm uses the same x5660's, and it even outperforms some E5 2600 series xeons, not to mention i7's.

Is the 40 eur cpu rly good? And why gpu? No intel hd?

well those cpu's usually dont have any graphics in them, thus the option to go with dedicated GPU

and yeah those cpu's are good, since i use 2 of them in my workstation for heavy 3d tasks.

Mkey, but for some reason, 40 euros for 6cores, hyperthreading and 3ghz seems too good to be true, il l check lel.

they are old  + they have low clocks and since they are old less ipc

+ they are cheap because they are inefficient

i wouldnt be so hard pressed on that idea. Low clocks... yeap, not true.
And they're cheap, because they're old, and people have swapped to 2011 ;)

on that platform you can run 1066/1333 ;) but if you're doing a really base config server then not really.
