Tearing ! why ?

Go to solution Solved by einzeller85,

ok i got it.  when i uninstalled asus gpu tweak, the problem was gone ... but so is my gpu overclock :(

So my problem is: i have tearing in every game i own.

I tried to switch v-synch in game on and of in combination with all the frame buffer, v-synch and adaptive v-synch settings in my nvidia settings.

Also i tried different Hz settings and fps settings of gpu tweak (30,40,50,60 hz or fps)

The only thing that varies is the number of tearing lines i have on screen while i am in game (i mostly have over 60 fps if v-synch is disabled)

is this a hardware or a software issue ?

my system:

i5 4670k (oc to 4,3 ghz)

asus gtx 660ti (oc via gpu tweak)

asus gryphon z 87 mainboard

2x corsair vengeance 4 gb ddr3 1600MHz CL9

psu: be quiet 500w

Display: Samsung synchmaster BX2431 (using hdmi)

1) What games do you play?

2) How many lines is on the screen?

My guess is that this has to do with the HPU being underpowered or the fact that that monitor and HDMI is very sketchy...

Can you use DVI on the display?
