How well does Cooler Master Hyper 212 Led Turbo fit on the AM4 socket?

I got the cooler master Hyper 212 LED Turbo for my Ryzen 5 1600x. My question is how well does it fit on the socket.

 

Was there any problem while fitting it or any surface of the CPU left out of contact from the Cabinet?

 

Because one guy was saying a bit of the CPU about 2-3 mm is left out of contact from the Cooler. Is this true?

 

Does it cool well or do you have any other coolers to suggest.

Of course there's a bit of clearance. That's why you need thermal paste. Not enough to hurt cooling though.

Between CPU and bottom plate or around the sides? Latter doesn't matter that much, mounting brackets are engineered so that cooler is placed over part that produce heat. Linus mentions this during TR review.

So if there are open spaces on the edges.... it wont matter right?

As long as cooler makes contact with CPU everything will be fine. 212 is very popular cooler and there would be many threads complaining about it if there would be a issue with bracket.

It doesn't make much of a difference. The die is in the center and that's where most of the heat is transferred.
