Hi guys,

So i had been using a k90, and now i use a filco mj2 tkl blues(phew long name) and i will be selling it(btw, if you are interested pm me(europe only))

And the reason I want a new one, is because i want a backlit board. I still like the simple design tho, that's why i switched from k90 to filco.

So,

I can either get this:

https://www.alternate.nl/html/checkout/order.html?cmd=guestAccountSelected

^ Cmctorm TK, wich i think is pretty good. but i just dont like cm storm THAT much.

Or i can get a ducky, but its hard in europe.

http://global.pchome.com.tw/english/?mod=store&func=style_show&SR_NO=SBAE42&tm=e

They sell really cheap duckys, and shipping is only 20 to europe, but they don't have shine 2's anymore, and i don't want to spend >100 euros = >135 USD

Any help?

ducky's are far too hyped because of their useless backlight features, if you want a light show, you can waste your money and get a Ducky, but if you just want a functional keyboard that has a stunning backlight, get the Quickfire TK, only issue with the TK is you have to get used to how the numlock works other than that I love mine.

A Max Keyboard or QPAD maybe?

I don't really like the looks of the QPAD and the max keboard doesn't fit my budget(some do, they are ugly tho)

Hm i really liked the backlight modes, but then i thought:

I am just going to use the normal lighting mode and just check the other modes for 5 mins xD But i actually think ducky's are pretty cool. Just the simple design.

I think i like TK over ducky.

But i kinda don't like cmstorm, all their products.. look cheap^^ I haven't had any tho, so i probably am wrong

very false, I own the TK and it's a wonderful keyboard, they reduced the amount of logo's they put on the TK and it has an amazing quality rubberized feel on the frame of the keyboard.

it's quality and I never had an issue with mine

It's not actually about the backlight when most of us recommend it [Maybe 20%], you don't see people in this section going around saying 'Go for Ducky because backlights > all!'

Ducky keyboards have superb build quality, they are incredibly sturdy and solid and just oozes a premium feel when you type on it that makes you know that you paid for this shit, not some cheapo $20 keyboard.

You get what you pay for and there's always a premium for the best! There's a reason why they are $140, and it is also the same reason why the 780Ti is $700 while the 780 is $500, a 4960x is $1050 while a 4930k is $580 and the Murderbox MKii is $1200 while a tj07 is $350!

But definitely anyone on a slightly smaller budget should consider a Trigger/TK/Filco, tried all and are well built & sturdy too [Compared to something like a Blackwidow...]

Well that was one reason i hated cm storm.. they put logos everywhere. Especially with that old rapid.. damn.

But it seems the tk doesnt have that problem.

And eeh.. rubberized you said? How does that compare with the.. like.. textured feel of the filco? On pictures you can only tell the tk is fully plastic.

most of those things you listed are overpriced for no reason, so I can't say that I agree with that stance at all

I don't know the textured feel on filco, but what I'm saying is it's worth the price, it has a metal backplate and it's extremely study, compact, and I LOVE the keycaps (I personally don't like the font, but the keycaps feel AMAZING). it's worth the price, I'd only recommend ducky if you want to get a certain backlight with specific keycaps, like reds or browns with a blue backlight. That's what Ducky and Filco are good for, they are very customized.

Unfortunately for others, in the netherlands you cannot easily find blued or browns...

Fortunately for me, im sick and tired as shit of blues. I also want to stay away from brown. Tried them once didnt rly like em. So im going vack to reds.

Thanks for your, and others for their feedback. I think im just gona go for the white tk w reds. Since my whole setup is white:D

Yeah i know that one! Good luck with it, but, like i said. IF THERE ARE blues/browns, they are pretty expensive. In us you can get em for like 150$ wich is like 110 euros. You pay 160 or something on that site. Pretty expensive, but worth anyway. I just don't want to spend that much this time^^

I have been looking to us sites but the shipping to europe is what kills the deal. At least I'll have an easier RMA proces with these guys in the Netherlands.

Yes was looking at it but wanted it right now :P I'm impatient. If they had the silver k70 with mx brown in stock somewhere I would have gone with that probably.

I really like my CM TK. With blue switches, I really like having the tactile sound and feel. "Mushy" feeling linear switches are to membrane like for me so I wouldn't get red. But it is all preference. For the price of my TK, I would say it is a great mechanical keyboard but it is the only on I have owned. I have tried other switches in stores however.
