Nvidia GSYNC questions?

I'm looking to pickup a BenQ XL2420TE around christmas and two more for a triple monitor setup later in the year. Nvidia said that GSYNC will be available for BenQ monitors in Q1, but modders can pick up a board and mod an ASUS monitor if they already have the monitor. If I pick up a BenQ monitor without the gsync module installed will I be able to buy one and mod the monitor myself when they are released or is this an Asus monitor specific and I should wait and get the monitor when it has gsync installed in it?

You should REALLY wait for confirmed Gsynch monitors it you want that. The BenQ ones available right now will probably not have provisions for the gsynch module if you ask me.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

I mean, considering that benq and nvidia has a good relationship and it's significance, adding in the time line of the announcements, I would be a little surprised if benq didn't have any upgrade plans, but then again, if they can get you to buy the s am e product twice because of G-sync, it could mean more sales. But then again, again, they'll lose out to Asus if they don't allow for upgrades

well im just wondering if I should wait to buy the first monitor that has gsync built into it or get one now and hope they add modding support so I can add gsync to it and buy two more later with it built in

Buying a monitor and hoping for G-sync support is going into it blindly. Either buy one that you know supports G-sync or wait and see if your monitor supports the mod.

Isn't the module for "professional modder".

If you can mod a display, the G-sync module can be done by you.

I just spoke with Benq tech support regarding their current line of monitors and the possibilities for and upgrade kit similar to that of the ASUS monitor. The representative said that there will not be an upgrade kit.

They informed me that the new 2014 lineup of Benq monitors will have the Gsync technology in them and that the first available monitor will be the model XL2720Z.

Sad day  :( , I was going to purchase the  XL2420TE this week but now I will just a cheaper monitor until the good stuff comes out.

Hope this helps

But that's not as easy as replacing a video card or even a CPU, you're probably going to need a soldering iron to mod G-Sync into a monitor. That was my point.

That's the only way to you can mod a display. At least on the inside. Using a soldering iron.
