Been a long time coming, I've been using the integrated Radeon HD 7540D in my A6-5400K ever since building this PC.

One of my friends upgraded his PC to a 1080 SLI recently, and I was able to get his old GTX 780(i've been looking up some benchmarks, the performance of this card really impresses me).

However, I need a new PSU and case before I can actually use it haha. Luckily Christmas is on the way...

PSU arent expensive. Even the most likely overkill and highly rated 650w PSU costs $80. If you can settle on a 550w 80+ bronze PSU then it's aroung $50. Sure it will be cheaper in sales, but not worth waiting another 2 months imo.

Your case is too small for a reference card? damn...

Nah, my case can fit a reference card in it. I just don't have much room for the power connectors due to the design(I have a Diablotek Diamond; I was on a really tight budget at the time haha)

don't bother upgrading on that platform, just jump to modern AMD or Intel when you have the money.

That's wasting the 780's firepower. Get the best value chip when you decide to spend the money.
