Woah Boy

Okay so my phone is only using 6 cores at any given time, every time I check only 6 of the 8 are being using for core 2 and 3 it'll just say stopped is this normal?

1) what phone is it?

2) why are you checking for core usage? what are you using to check?

3) have you noticed any slowdowns?

in general, phones and pcs will park unnecessary cores to lower power consumption, this is normal and should not impact your performance.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Sounds normal, phones will often do this to save power.

What phone is it?

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

@DocSwag

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

All modern CPUs do this.

Cores and threads park and unpark based on usage in order to balance performance and efficiency.

As long as you're not experiencing any performance issues, you're all good.
