Limiting FPS, how to change back

So, I've somehow limited my FPS to 100, is there a program or way to 'unlimit' my FPS?

 

I think I did it when I was reading a few articles about limiting your FPS to your screens max, but this was a while ago now and I don't remember what I used to do it.

How did you limit it, is this in certain games or software or what?

 

AFAIK only the software/game running will determinate FPS. You might get some other software like Afterburner to limit active fps. There isn't any software to "free" limited fps. That can only be done from software you used to limit it in first place.

I have a feeling it was fraps, but that's uninstalled. I would have assumed if the software that was limiting the fps was removed, I'd no longer be limited. I remembered when I ran user benchmark today and it ranked my computer at 50%, and my 1080 at 30%, and it said it was limited at 99fps. I remember doing something, just not what I did.

Have you verified that in real games? Could be Userbenchmark just bugging.
