What's the system being used for?

Video editing in Premiere CS6 using DSLR footage, and I also like to game with 3 monitors in surround.

You should've gone cheaper on the mobo + ssd and gotten a 290 instead.

I know. As for the SSD $150 for a 250gig was too good to pass, but the mobo also looks overpriced to me considering it doesn't offer anything too special. It does have auto overclock with 4 way optimization which is great for me since I know nothing about overclocking. Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper mobo?

There was a seagate 600 240GB frm newegg on sale for $130 a few days ago. $150 for 250GB isn't that much of a deal.

You should be manually overclocking anyway.

Where are you shopping/located?

Hmmn. I don't game that often so a 290 would probably be a bit overkill for me. Do you know of any good 780 deals?

*Says 290 is overkill. Opts for for the more expensive 780*

What?

The 290 is barely enough for nice triple 1080p gaming as is. The 780 has an even harder time and is more expensive.

Lol, sorry I confused it for the R9 290X. How long till the non reference coolers come out?

Not sure. I've only heard rumors but I'm thinking soon.

At the very least, you can watercool the 290 with a Kraken G10 and a Hydro H55 for less than a 780.

Really? So all of that would be cheaper than $500?

Depends where you're shopping. After all, the 780 is already more than $500 after taxes and other fees.

The 290 + Kraken G10 + H55 (Or any other compatible cooler) should be around the same price as the 780.
