So basically NVENC is the solution for people with lower end CPU's, but High end GPUs.

Vice versa with x264

yes

or under heavy cpu load games  / vice versa

Nope

NVENC is the solution for people with 4 core 8 threads or less

Yes. Your CPU is good for streaming

it depends on how intensive the application is using ur cpu  rather then core based or thread based

if u run an application that uses 10 out of ur 12threads(assuming the threads are under full stress), its recommended to use nvenc

if u have 4 or more threads spare , its recommended to use x264

short said, hes cpu will be good for x264 streaming on almost everything, but extreme cpu intensive applications or games might need nvenc... however i expect 95-98% of the stuff to be able to be streamed with x264 just fine

all depends on the load, i5 can also stream fine using x264... aslong the application/game u are using doesnt eat up all ur threads with full stress.... x264 can still be used fine in most cases :)

I don't plan to stream anything heavily intensive (Except for PUBG, which isn't optimized)

x264 all the way

stuff like BF1 id recommend nvenc :)

x264 is some better quality yes, but its at the cost of a huge cpu load :P, on cpu intensive games such as bf1 he will end up beeing necked there

id recommend x264 for less cpu intensive stuff and if u need the full juice out of ur cpu ... use nvenc

It's even better in performance if you watch the video

depends what cpu preset u use really, hes using very fast cpu preset ( which reduces the quality of the stream )

if u use NORMAL preset ur cpu will cry probably but the quality will be insane

Asus TUF B350M Plus is the best b350 motherboard, Prime b350 plus is a great budget option.
