Is this normal?

My graphics card has this white thing sticking out of it, I didn't see it until now. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before.

OK. I'm an idiot. It was there the whole time, I was looking through photos of when I first built this PC and saw the pad sticking out. Just never noticed it...

You could trim it flush using a sharp pair of scissors if it's sticking out a lot. It's not really supposed to poke out.
It's supposed to be there though. I personally wouldn't worry about it.

either that themal pad is too big - which is fine

or 

that thermal pad is out of place

 

if you have the ICX version then just check to see if the VRM temps are within safe limits

just take a black marker and color the visible portion so it looks better

Yes I have icx version and I'm pretty sure it's within safe temps as I'm using this for about 3 weeks now no problems. But I want to know what I can use to check the temps, any suggestions?
