1. M12II is old

2. I don't know about that case

3. Why not regular Barracuda?

4. I am not sure if you can OC past RAM speed, plus would it be cheaper to buy 4x4 or 2x8 sticks, guranteed to be working

If M12II is not good, what PSU would you recommend that's low-noise, affordable and at least semi-modular?

What does Barracuda hard drive offer over the other?

Cx550m grey label is a good option

Also I would get an inwin 301 instead.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

A 450W/550W CXM should come around that price. A normal Barracuda would just be cheaper, that is an enterprise drive.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Does it have a small footprint (width/length) for a MATX case?

Does it have low noise?

United States.  Recording studio.  Gaming.  I want very low noise (when not gaming).

  • Will be OCing CPU and RAM.
  • I don't need 32 GB RAM anytime soon.
  • I will make the following upgrades next year: case fan, 250GB SSD, Be Quiet Pure Rock Slim Cooler, 1440p monitor.
  • Will be using rubber pads and some sound dampening foam.

Don't get this gpu if you want low noise - get something with 2 or 3 fans and preferably 1060 6gb edition.

Your gpu of choice will struggle a bit with 1440p monitor - I'd suggest 1080p 60hz widescreen IPS, something like LG 29UM68-P

Even if you don't need 32gb ram then I'd still buy 2x8gb sticks instead of 4x4gb sticks. This is because there is absolutely no noticeable difference in performance dual channel vs quad channel and you'll still have 2 free slots for future.

Also you don't need to overclock much your ram, your cpu will handle everything you throw at it when OCed. Even 1080Ti running games in 4k.

Instead of using rubber pads and some sound dampening foam consider other case, like Fractal Design Define C Midi-Tower or SilverStone Kublai KL07.

I see you're on a tight budget, but you can still do some tweaks to your choices :)

I went with 1 8gb stick instead.

I bought gtx 1060 and ryzen 5 1600.

I already have a 1080p monitor.  When i get a 1440p monitor it will be with a gtx 1080 but i wont do that right now.

Need help on the case, motherboard, and power supply still.

Looking for small form factor windowed case, quiet parts.  Need wifi and bluetooth

Gtx 1060 wont be at load while im recording music so its not issue
