So apparently this might all be a misunderstanding?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Mmhmm. The first sentence of this press release confirms it's a misunderstanding.

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG, GOOGL) and HTC Corporation (TWSE: 2498) today announced a definitive agreement under which certain HTC employees – many of whom are already working with Google to develop Pixel smartphones – will join Google.

Don't see anything about Google acquiring HTC there. Go to my thread if you want a more accurate interpretation of the news :P

Not that it was a bad thing, more like it wasn't what most people expected, google being a top smartphone manufacturer.

In the interest of not having the discussion split across two threads, I'm locking this now.  @NumLock21 if you can effectively refute what @Daring has posted, then I'll make changes but for the time being it seems his article is more accurate.
