First I want to say I don't know how to use this so sorry if I just created something I was not supposed to.  I need help finding the perfect processor for me. I do a lot of content creation eg. Photoshop Illustrator Primer pro in 4k I also play games such as overwatch, battlefront, whicher, Starcraft, PAT, and ext. I also have 3 monitors running. I like Intel, however, this isn't about the brand especially since amd is getting really good.  Id like to not spend 1k on just the processor best price would be 400 but I also don't want to keep upgrading it for a while so ill go to max 800 $$ Please help me out :)

Something like an R5 1600 should be good enough for you.

The upcoming 8700k should be fantastic at all of that

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

Primer pro in 4k

very thread heavy program.

Ryzen 7 1700 and OC it, or 1800X if you prefer to not OC and get plenty of performance. Intel HEDP is way out of your price bracket.

The "plain English" version is "it's old" and you should probably look at buying something else :P

Okay so Intel has a lot of processors and I am having a Paradox of choice.  I also looked at AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Processor and was wondering if this is the highest Ryzen they have?

Also, how do I tag a user?

It's the highest pure ryzen but they also have threadripper that goes up to twice as many cores, and twice the cost, both for CPU and motherboard :P

Type "@" then start typing the first bit of their name, and then pick if from the list when it shows up.  If it doesn't turn orange it wasn't done properly.

IF you OC, your best bang for dollar is the 1700 as i've not seen many examples NOT reach 3.8GHz on all cores, HOWEVER, if you're not interested in over clocking at all, the 1800X is the highest performing of the ryzen line. I have a 1700X and for what I do (which is non-professional video editing and very light gaming) it was the absolute best choice to make.

If you were to go to your absolute MAXIMUM price of $800, a Threadripper 1920X with 12-cores would do even better at heavy multi-tasking applications... but just like Intel's HEDP line, you're paying heavily for the PLATFORM price. The CHEAPEST TR4 MB that will work for Threadripper is $340, and you have to get DDR4 RAM to match it. you might as well double your cost just to jump in the Over-8-Core club, but the benefits can be very real. If you're editing for profit (meaning you do it as a job to earn income) then Threadripper is the logical choice, but if you're like me who dabble in video because it's fun and you like to make things, anything in the Ryzen 7 line is going to make you grin ear to ear.
