You're gaming? just gaming? Just gaming and looking for recommendations?

My recommendation is to save a shitton of money and don't get TR. wait for coffee lake to come out in a few weeks or go Ryzen. Ryzen will perform pretty much the same as TR in most every game, and Intel will have an advantage over Ryzen if you have a strong enough GPU to leverage it.

but if you have your heart set on TR... I would probably go with the Taichi. if you intend on going watercooling you may wish to check which of these boards have supported monoblocks (if any)

It's meaningless to go with TR or X299 for gaming. There-is-no-reason-to-do-it.

Sorry forget to say i am also a 3D animation worker , i am looking for a high performane platform for animation project and game development .

I would still highly recommend something like a Ryzen 1700 then or waiting for coffee lake... but if you must go TR, my recommendation is the Taichi.

Asrock X399 Taichi or Gigabyte Aoros X399 Gaming 7

so far i seen a lot of builds using either boards and no complains from them

other than the CPU mounting was hard for them

The X399/X299 platforms are not really necessary for gaming/ 3D animation, there are less expensive alternatives like the ryzen 7 1700, 8 cores and 16 threads should be enough for 3D animation/game development and some gaming on the side. There is also an 8 core variant of threadripper, the 1900X, it has a little more PCIE lanes and uses the TR4 socket, its a little bit more expensive than its ryzen counterparts, plus an X399 motherboard, does raise the cost. If you really need threadripper, ASUS or Asrock X399 motherboards are reliable, threadripper can do some gaming at decent frame rates, pair it with a good graphics card, like the 1080ti for example it can still play games at decent frame rates.
