No, at this price point stick with the R5 1600.

Ryzen.  If you are in the mid price range of the 1600, I don't recommend trying to get an i5 7600k.  Unless you have $600 for an i7 7700k/8700k, z270/z370 motherboard and 16 gb of ram, go with ryzen.

Try using the PSU Tier List!

How to reset the bios/clear the cmos

My current rig:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x

Ram: 1x16gb DDR4, 2x8gb DDR4

Storage: 1tb nvme ssd

GPU: gtx 3080

Monitor: 23.8" Dell S2417DG 144hz g-sync 1440p + 27" Acer S271HL 60 Hz 1080p

Keyboard: ducky one I | I SF

Mouse: gpro wireless | glorious model o2 wireless

Sound : beyerdynamic 1990 pro | Monoprice liquid spark (amp) + topping d10 (dac)

If you're doing purely gaming, an i5 might be okay. But at this price range, I would go with Ryzen.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

Core i5 6400, unless games of 2017 make use of multiple cores e.g 6 the 6400 would fit your price range

none. current generation i5 is just not worth it. get a 6 core ryzen for the same price or a 4 core ryzen for less if you don't need that many threads.

or wait for official prices coffee lake if you can.

word on the street is also that coffee lake requires a new chipset regardless of the mechanicaly compatible socket. so you gotta buy a new mainboard either way. DickMove™ by intel
