So today i finished my new pc build (exept of an upcomming gpu) and wanted to personalise and change some things around with maps. I have two storage devices, one ssd and one hdd. i want to use the ssd only for the os and games, whereas i want to use the hdd for media and games that dont require the speed of an ssd.

so windows automatically put up menu shortcuts to photo, video, music and documents to my ssd, so ofcourse i tried to change these to the hdd.

the photo's folder went nicely and then i fucked up: the shortcut for documents, music and video are now seen as a shortcut to my hdd and i cant seem to change it back.

If someone could help me out here that would be great.

utilize quick access / pinning folders, and unpin music/documents/videos/etc.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

right click the folder from your "this pc" folder, select location and click the find target button. direct it to where you want to have it connect to, so D:\Music for the music folder D:\whatever for each folder and they'll redirect to said folder in the D drive

I've already tried that and (if i were to literally translate) it will say that it cant change it from (D/) to a subfolder within (D/) because it is seen as (D/)

(google translation: Could not redirect an item above to an underlying item. The specified path is invalid.)

The proper way of moving your directories to a different drive is in the windows settings...

try redirecting it to the C drive first and see if it changes its attitude
