Yes, write speeds are higher on PM851 but only by very little, so its not really a difference in real life. If you choose the X300 you can always add another faster m2 later. PM851 is pretty slow for a m2 drive, as its only SATA speed

Well, I have both so I wasn't sure which would be better

If thats the case I would use the M2 as boot drive, it is after all little quicker, but only very little. If you were to buy both now, I would only go for the X300

PM851 have a write speed of 380 MB/s and a read speed of 540 MB/s

X300 have a write speed of 300 MB/s and a read speed of 510 MB/s

 

As far as I can read then yes, but not by any real measures you can actually feel in day-to-day usage
