Jaok

Basically I'm looking for a 4k and 1080p monitor. Also it would be nice if they were the same size.

Thanks!

Well... go to a store, filter on 1080p and 4k, and have a look?

Joking aside we cannot help much if you just say you want a monitor. Any preferences like price point, refresh rate etc.? What will you be using it for (gaming, content creation)? For the size I guess you'd want 27" monitors then. Larger on 1080p will be pixelated, smaller on 4k is just too much pixels I think :P

I will mainly use it for gaming.

And yes 27" is an ok size.

Regarding the frezh rate and price I would want 2 monitors with 144hz refesh rate.

Also it would be nice if both of thee monitors would be below 500$ price range.

You can get a 144 Hz 1080p monitor for <$500, 4k at that refresh rate first of all is not available yet and second of all will most likely run you double or triple that price when they first come out, so you'll be stuck with 60 Hz for now.

I'm definitely not aware of all the monitors out there now, but I've read good things about the LG 27UD68P for example (4k). For 1080p I have the VG248QE, which has a 27" variant as well. Not the best colors in my opinion, but good enough for gaming after fiddling with the settings a bit.

27" @ 4K? Your eyes are going to bleed, either because of the extremely small icons, or because of the horrendous Windows scaling (I bet you use Windows)

Why do i always get blue screens? Why not a red one for a change?

Well I suggested 27" because he wanted the monitors to be the same size. I agree that it is on the small side for 4k though.

I got a 28 inch 4K panel and it's fine at 175% scaling (I also increased font sizes but I did that at 1080p anyway). It's only stuff like Steam overlay and other non-scaling aware apps that are too small.

Scaling for 4k is okay-ish sort of... in Windows 10. Windows 8 however (which is what I'm still using because I'm an abomination) has the worst 4k scaling you could imagine.

Pro-tip: Don't get them in the same size.

Any "aesthetic" benefit from having relatively similar-sized rectangles will be quickly negated by the fact that:

The bezels will not match.

The stands more than likely will not match.

One will have an image 4 times denser than the other yet crammed into the same space.

Get a 32" 4K so that you can see details and use it properly. Get a 24" 1080p panel so that you don't have to sit down to PixelCentralTM every time you'd like to game.

Monitors come in different sizes for very good reasons. You can have different panels and still have a clean setup.
