Just like the title says. Can anyone recommend a program for designing objects for 3D printing. I ordered a printrbot simple and am look for something to create my designs with. I am looking for something simple to use, but I would like to have the option to use advanced tools in the future. All of my designs will be within a 10x10x10cm area if that helps.

i9 25.6 GHz with NeuronThreading, 256gb 6000 MHz RAM, GTX 990 OC 3024MHz 12gb, Skeletal X99 motherboard, 1 Petabyte SSD, Fractal Design Humaniod R1 Case, Herbivore 10,000W PSU, Noctua NF16 LP Derma Cooler.

I would recommend trying Blender. It is not the easiest to learn but you will benefit in the long run by learning it first. It is a very powerful program and, the best part, it's free! If you search on youtube for "blender 3d printing" you will be able to find some fantastic videos that will help you get started with some basic modelling and setup for printing.

This video is for preparing models for printing with Shapeways, however there is a lot of useful information in it that will help you get started. Hope I could help! :D

Cool, I didn't know you could use blender. I've experimented with it before, but never for printing. I'll try it out when my printer gets here

Any, as long as it can save as an STL file, which is the most common option for 3D printing. Most 3D applications support STL exporting.
