depends on what you play but i would say nier automata (on sale on steam till the 25)

If you've played the Mass Effect series, Andromeda is worth taking a look at. Its not my favorite though.

I dont want to recommend Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands because that game's boring without friends to play with. 

 

I myself also play Duke Nukem Forever from time to time because I got bored with more traditional FPS games like CoD and Crysis. It's by far the best fps game since the shooting feels a bit weird and makes me feel dizzy after extended periods of time, but it is certainly different imo.

sorry to interrupt the original question but just curious to know if Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands has a story mode and if it does is it any good and is it worth buying the game just to play the story?

It has a story, but a boring one. Everything just goes the way you expect it to. Without friends to play with this game is terrible.
