EVO 850 or 960 SSD for 2012 mbp

Nicnac

I am looking for a good 500-1TB SSD for my aging late 2012 mbp (no retina). Would a Samsung Evo 960 be perceivably faster/ worth it? or should I just go with the cheaper alternative?

Does the 2012 mbp support nvme? I own a 960evo NVME and an 840 pro and in real world use, there is no visible difference at all. The only time I see a difference is when working with large media files.

Thanks for the info! no, unfortunately it will have to be a sata drive. So its even less of a difference I guess, right...?

The 960 is m.2/pcie only I believe. So sata would be the way to go.
