so i was using the custom pc (built in the store) in our house when it suddenly turned itself off...

1. by that i mean the screen turned off but there's light on the mouse, keyboard, motherboard, gpu

2. then the lights started blinking as if it's trying to turn itself on but fails repeatedly (the cpu fan spins and stops along with the light)

3. i tried to press the power button to no avail

4. i unplugged it and then tried to turn it on and it still wont turn on

5. after a while it showed something like "your overclock settings have failed" and gave me the choice to reset the settings, load last good settings or change the settings myself

6. i didn't overclock but i did turn on the xmp so i figured i'll just turn it off

7. still didn't turn on

8. then for some reason it did turn on but died in less than ten minutes

9. the next day it turned on but dies after an hour or two

10. and then....it just worked perfectly fine

does anyone know what actually went wrong? i know it's weird that i'm asking this but i'd like to know the problem since the warranty will be void soon, btw the way the only settings that i changed in the bios (when it was new) was turning on xmp and selecting ahci mode...it worked fine for several months before the problem happened

basically i just want to know what went wrong....is the problem still there or was it magically solved...will it turn itself off again..

thanks in advance :)

sorry for the long post

Can you try clearing the CMOS on the motherboard?

Usually there's either a button on a jumper on the motherboard to do so.

If no, removing the CMOS battery, wait a couple minutes and place it back in to clear the CMOS.

It looks like there's a BIOS settings that's making the system unstable.
