Hello guys, I've been thinking of getting a new PC, I want good gaming PC for about ~1500$ (I already have some parts, so it's about 1200$)

So, should I get GTX 780 or 770? I want kind of 'future-proof' (I know this is stupid, but whatever, at least 1-2 years) because next-gen games are on the way and I don't want to buy a pc and not be able to run 2014-15 games on more than 30 fps. I'm debating right now, don't know what to do, I'll start buying in mid-december I think, so, this is my build for now:

Intel Core i7-4770K $299.99

ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO $209.92

Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ (PC3 15000) $97.99

Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 120GB $89.99

EVGA GeForce GTX780 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 3GB GDDR5 384bit $509.99

I already have:

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750

Western Digital 1.5 TB Caviar Green

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

Let me know what do you guys think, it is very important for me. Thanks  :D

780 or 290. Either wait for aftermarket 290's or get an aftermarket cooler.

It seems decent enough but you can get cheaper parts that do the same job. $100 is hardly a cheap price for a 8GB kit of ram as you can get it for ~$50 atm.

Why such an expensive mobo? As for the cpu, a 4670k would perform nearly the same for $100 less in terms of gaming.

Are you limited to only Amazon?

What about your peripherals?

You have a typo of your psu twice but nevermind that. Looks very nice indeed :)

You might not need a 4770K but its your choice to save a ...I don't know how much a 4670K cost :(

I heard Linus said that hyper-threading will come in handy in the future for gaming, or did I misunderstand?

4770K could be swapped out for an i5 4670K or FX 8320 for gaming and the Hero could be swapped for something cheaper like the GD-65 or a Gigabyte board its not worth the extra money in my eyes the rest of the parts look good

I had a bad experience with Gigabyte mobos, which Asus mobo would you suggest?

Yeah, I'll change mobo. Which RAM? I can buy on newegg too, I live in Europe, so I'm kinda limited.

the GD-65 is a "gaming" centric MSI board that is slightly cheaper than the Hero also the new Gigabyte boards (on the high-medium end) are good you should have no problem with one

So, 10-15$? Is it better than Hero? Or should I get cheaper? I'm not an overclocker guy, I want good and reliable 'gaming' mobo for as cheap as possible.

I've had no problems with gigabyte with sandy and haswell at all. asus didn't work for me.
I see no problem with the components but I suggest you don't pick up the evga card because i'ts loud, doesn't oc very well (depends mostly on luck) and hot (my buddy has a 770 acx and i have the gigabyte one)

                                                                                      wow... pretty empty here...

You could change your cpu to a 4670k, if you are only gaming. Other comments said that swap out your mobo, but i am personally protecting it becuze i like Asus ROG even if they are a bit over prices but you get for the price: quality,Good OC, long lifetime, awsome sexy colour on the mobo. But if u dont care about that you could change to a cheaper one if you like to.

Also the PSU is a bit low end and not so long lifetime what i know, change to some seasonic one or Corsair Rm one

[spoiler= Dream machine (There is also a buildlog)]

I'll change CPU if gaming multi-threading I heard is not true. I already have that PSU, it's very hard to sell things in here, so... Is it really necessary to spend extra $130 on a part which I already have? (yes, the worse one but...)

why ASUS personally I think most of the time they are overpriced you can get the same features or more from a cheaper board

I don't know, I kinda like Asus, but I'll go with the MSI. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a crappy motherboard, I want it to have a reasonable price.

Why shop from the US if you're in Europe?

Pretty much any mobo would do.

the G43 or Gd-65 are very good and supposedly made for gaming although no motherboard can be classified as a board that makes you have a better gaming experience except maybe on the LAN side

Ok, I'll go with G43 than.

I believe most of the things the GD-65 has over the G43 are mostly power phases and possibly a little less SATA ports

780 palit gigabyte asus msi. maybe a cheap 780ti or a 290 or you wait for a new design of a 290

I honestly think the 290 is a better value than everything else.

edit: asus is fine i took the cheapest mobo back than. nothing to do with asus :) but i like the bios on the gigabyte z87
