I am building a gaming pc on a decent budget, the pcpartpicker list is in Canadian dollars. Would appreciate tips on possible savings.

i was given a x34 monitor so a 1080 card is the sweet spot i was told.

Also was given the Samsung 960 nvme ssd and the ram.

everything else is out of my pocket based on friends recommendations.

will be playing games mostly like wow,lol,csgo,overwatch...

Still want to be on a ryzen platform since i am going to consider streaming at some point and this PC needs to last being used 16-18hrs a day for the next 18months. I am injured in a wheelchair without much to do and can afford putting 2500-3250$ on the PC but any smart person would save money if possible.

You could probably get a 1080 Ti and a 1700 into the PC with that kind of budget. The 1700 would benefit performance during streaming. The 1600X is pretty much the same as the 1600, with a slightly higher chance of overclocking higher.

Fairly expensive water cooler. A nice air cooler would be plenty to cool any Ryzen, and would cost less. If it's for aesthetic reasons, then get what you want, I guess.

The motherboard is fairly mediocre, and bad for the price. @dave_k has a guide on Ryzen motherboards.

You could get the Hynix version of the RAM. It won't overclock as well, but it should run 3200 just fine. Ryzen has come a long way, with Agesa code 1006.

WD Black drives aren't much faster than any other 7200 RPM drive, so imo it's not worth spending the extra on it.

850W is overkill. The Prime Titanium is stupidly good, but also expensive. If you want a Prime, the 650W is more than enough for you (unless you want to run multi GPU setups, or change to a HEDT platform.

Hope you get well as fast as possible

:)

The ram was a gift so i am extremely happy with it, as for a air cooler a dark rock 3 should be good? I could get it for 40$ Canadian since my friend has a used one. I when with a 850w psu since i might sli eventually so the extra headroom should be good. But yes a cheaper psu should do the trick, any psu recommendations? I will read about mobo today and thx for the help.

There's this cooler roundup on OC3D. Albeit they're tested with OCCT, rather than Prime95. He also ran the fans at 100%. OCCT is a more realistic heavy use scenario, while Prime95 is more the absolute worst case scenario. The Dark Rock 3 looks to be around 5° hotter than the H110 (very similar to the H115), so it should be fine. If you get the 6 core, it should absolutely be fine.

The Prime Titanium is pretty much the best PSU on the market, so anything would be a (usually unnoticeable) downgrade. You have the 750W version of the same unit, which should still be adequate for an SLI setup, you have the 750W version of the Prime Platinum, you have the EVGA G3 and G2, and Seasonic Focus Plus. I think the Prime Titanium is the only one without in cable capacitors. Meaning you can change the cables to 3rd party ones without losing performance. And they're easier to manage. There's a list on the forum, and any of the tier 1 units should be good.

No problem

:)

Very good.

Check if Asus X370-F mobo is cheaper than the Taichi, it is very good as well and has the RGB ram support (Taichi doesnt)

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it. You could spend less on the motherboard, and get something like a Prime Pro or Strix instead. The Taichi used to have lots of bugs in the BIOS (he's made follow up videos until version 2.40), but it should be smoothed out by now. Just thought you should know. It's got the best VRM setup, though.

My local store has the gpu, psu, mobo, windows and the case in store. I can send my friend pick it up for me right away and they are giving me a 135$ discount if i pick it up today or a nzxt hue+. So that's gonna be my move, gonna need to wait on the cpu and the cpu cooler to get the build going, hopefully shipping won't be to long.
