Hey, guys.

I am really confused. I want to buy a new monitor. But my range is only $350 to max $400. I can either go for a 4K display or a 144hz display. Don't know if there are any that offers both in this range. My primary usage is of basic designing stuff and editing photos. And some casual games such as Dota, CSGO, and TF2. Not very demanding games.

PC Specs:

Core i7 7700k

Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming 5

Corsair vengeance 16gb ddr4

Gigabyte gtx1080

240gb NVMe - 480gb SSD - 4tb HDD

Which monitor and brand should I go for?

Thanks.

CSGO

CSGO is not a casual game, you mean you don't play comp?  If you play comp go for the 144 hertz one.  If you play casually, go for the 4k one if you do a lot of 4k content watching and other stuff, if your're mostly gaming seriously go for the 144 hertz one.  I'm guessing the 144 hertz one is 1080p, you didn't say the resolution of it in your post?

cs is a casual game if you're below nova

aka silver

:P trust me, you literally boot it up, and start shooting CYKA BLYAT BBBBBBBBBBBBBB

i pick 4k, because you have more uses with 4k over 144hz, which is just casual cs/dota.

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

By casual games, I meant not very demanding games. Or games that would advantage from either the higher refresh rate or higher resolution. Yes, the 144hz one is HD1080p.

I do not watch 4k content because I don't have a monitor yet lol. But I usually edit high-quality photos and high-resolution vector graphics.
