CPu Upgrade advice

Hey guys I currently have an AMD x6 1055t at 3.4ghz OC, my video card is a Sapphire Radeon 6950 2gb

I was thinking of maybe upgrading the CPU, I would want to know some of your opinions on which CPU I should actually go for. (Willing to switch MOBO's)

I'll mostly be doing gaming.

If you are just gaming there is really not much point upgrading unlike graphics cards cpu performance for gaming really have not improved that much for a upgrade to be relevant. But you can upgrade if you really want to.

For mostly gaming if you really want a upgrade maybe a 4670k? That is a 6 core so maybe a 4930k but thats not really needed for gaming.

ok so it's an am3 board so you can't upgrade your cpu any further on that board. depending on what your 450 is then a 4670k would probably be best if your gaming

Should I wait through for AMD's Mantle to see how it will affect my 6 cores performance?

You could always get an FX-8350 which is fairly inexpensive and is just about as good as anything for gaming. It also has 8 cores which would work well with Mantle.

I think your fine with what you have. Try OC'ng it a bit more to get a bit more performance.
