AMD + Nivida GPU Driver Problem

So far, everything is working fine, without the driver installed. I bet Windows decided to install its own driver, IDK how it's working though.

GPUs will always work at a minimum in Windows, the same way they work for BIOS and all the way from POST until the OS loads the driver. You typically can't get the most of them without the manufacturer's specific driver, though.

Have you tried uninstalling any driver automatically installed by Microsoft before proceeding to install the V3900 official driver?

I got a small problem, and I don't know if this is possible. My system:

Everything is at its base clock.

  • Intel Core i7-6800k 3.4Ghz
    • Corsair H55 AIO CPU cooler
  • Asus x55-E Motherboard
  • Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 40 GB DDR4-2400 (5x8 GB)
  • Crucial MX300 525GB SSD
  • MSI Geforce 1050 TI 4GB GPU
  • AMD FirePro v3900 1GB GPU***
  • 2 Monitors
  • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit system

***The AMD FirePro v3900 was just added causing me to bring up this question. Everything else was working perfectly before adding the card. Even after adding the AMD card, everything works fine, except for the driver for the AMD FirePro card. SEE BELOW.

SO MY QUESTION, sorry it took this long to get here:

When I installed the AMD FirePro v3900, the system booted quickly. I was able to quickly switch one of my monitors over to the AMD FirePro and than both, after confirming that I could boot into the system just fine.

Now what I could not do, and my question revolves around: I went to install the AMD FirePro v3900 driver 15.201.2401.1010. Very shortly after I started the install of the driver, I got the error "Failed to load detection driver" from the AMD Driver installer.

When I go to the computer management console, it reports both the AMD and the Nivida GPUs.

I figure someone would ask that question. Provided I had a nice system then added an old AMD card.

So two weeks ago, I started playing around with the Bitcoins. I set it up to run only when I am not using the computer. Which is when I am at work and class, and while I'm sleeping. However, I wanted to see how much extra profits I would gain if I were to have a second GPU running everything. Well, my work just got new GPUs for our employee workstations for AutoCAD, and we got rid of the old AMD v3900s, which I purchased for a very cheap price.

I was thinking I could use the AMD FirePro to run my display, yes it's a downgrade, and then run the MSI 1050 TI to run the Bitcoin. Just to play around with it and see how it would work. The main problem is, I can't go and buy a decent GPU on the market because the Bitcoin miners raised the prices of the GPUs and I don't have that much money.

So I manually uninstalled the driver that was installed by Microsoft, then disabled the automatic install of drivers. I was then able to install the official V3900 driver.

Thanks for your help!
