Hi all,

First post here, and new to pc building so go easy with me pls!

recently build my rig, 7700k, z270, 1060gtx 6gb, 16gb corsair vengance, 960evo, corsair 650m. Currently air cooled with a 212evo. Now ive just start having a fudge at overclocking it a little, I thought I had it up to 4.7, so decided to stress it with aida64, as soon as I start the test I see in aidas cpuid and in cpuz that it seems to drop back down to 4.2, being the stock speed iirc, but aida shows no cpu throttling. Just really wondering if thats what happens, ive messed something up trying to overclock it, or Im missing something which is blatently obvious!

Just general pointers in the right direction would be great, nuffing too technical pls!!

Cheers in advance:)

What are temps? What is the voltage?

also, you set the multiplier to 47 in the BIOS, right?

Thanks for the quick replies!

Mutiplier = cpu ratio? is set on 46, and currently non adjustable value. Have got ocgenie4 'on' as well as xmp 'on'.

I adjusted the cpu base clock value to 102. Hoverover said 'you may OC the cpu by adjusting this value'

Seems like I best do a bit more reading up by the sounds of it!
