Hi,

I have just build my first pc. However, my coolermaster front fan is just not recognized by the motherboard. And I've tried using both chasis fan connector to see if either one is broken, but that was not the case. I will post some pictures of the connections with the fan and the mobo.

Mobo: Asus prime b350plus
Fan: Coolermaster sickleflow 120mm

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

those pictures don't make sense.

you are talking about your mainboard connectors but show a molex fan adapter that isn't even plugged in.

you either connect the fans directly to the motherboard or you use a molex adapter and connect that to your power supply.

Looking at the pictures,

The first two look fine. It looks like you have your front fan connected to your second CPU fan header. Which is fine.

But the other two pictures - Did you just unplug the same fan and plug it into a MOLEX adapter?

Whatever the case, keep your first configuration. If the board is not detecting it's RPM, then you likely have a bad fan. Test another fan on the same header.

If you JUST need airflow, just plug it into that molex adapter, AND plug the adapter into the female 4 pin molex connector from your PSU.

The chassis fan connector you're referring to is just a molex fan adapter tied to a bundle of other case i/o cables. You need to plug the larger 4pin molex adapter into the psu for power.

The first photo definitely isn't the fan connector for the Sickleflow since it should only use a 3pin header and have a translucent cable instead of black. I'm guessing you just misplaced the fan cable and though you had already plugged it in.
