Evga wrong vga cable shape

Help I just started putting my new psu in they give you 2 vga cables but my gpu takes 8 pin + 6 pin and the little 2 pin that breaks off is wrong shape

Can you provide pictures of said PSU plug you're trying to put into the video card?

That looks like the correct shape for the plug. As for a reference (use the left side of the chart)

Did you try moving the 2 to the other side of the 6?

Yeah on the little 2 it's not a square it's 2 circular ones

If I look at your image from that perspective, I see:

Top row: House, house, house, square

Bottom row: House, square, house, house

 

Which is the same shape as the 8-pin GPU as shown in the diagram if you rotated it 180 degrees.

Oh, there's your problem. The GPU's connector is not correct. However, that should be fine because you can plug in a house peg into a square one.

 

Also what in the flying duck MSI? Can't you get your connectors right?

 

EDIT: The connector is correct. The original picture I referenced is technically wrong

It might, but it should still fit.

 

If you're too paranoid about it, I would RMA the card on the premise that they installed a wrong plug.

Actually now I'm confused. This is also a PCIe 8-pin

 

There's two squares on the top right, which coincide with the plug on the video card.

 

I'm just going to go with if the yellow wires go into the bottom row of the PCIe power plug when it's in its 6-pin configuration, it's fine.

He cant the connector is correct (See pic ) Didt you by any chance maby got the rong end in PSU ? and your looking at the psu connector and no the pcie one

The plug has a house peg where the square hole is and the house peg is just the square one with the corners cut. So it should fit.
