So I am currently using my m40x's with the angled HM5 pads and I feel like I could just use a little bit of EQ to bring up the bass to really make these headphones awesome. I really love the highs that these have but I just need a little more bass/punch on kick drums (I like a lot of metal/rock music). I use Foobar2000 to listen to my FLAC files and the EQ in there seemed to do the trick but I want to be able to use an EQ when I listen to my tunes on spotify as well. Any ideas here?

If you are using onboard audio with a realtek chipset you should be able to set a EQ in the realtek control panel.

This is my system and the MOBO I'm working with - where would I be able to tell if I have Realtek? I'm not currently on that PC so I can't check atm

So this is what it says on the product page - where would I go from here to access the EQ on my PC?

Audio
- Realtek® ALC1150 Codec
- 7.1-Channel High Definition Audio
- Supports S/PDIF output

You could try searching "realtek" (without quotation marks) in the start menu. That works for me on my P9X79 Deluxe.

if all you want is a little more extra bass, you don't need a full EQ. windows has a bass boost setting built into it's own audio settings - and those apply system wide

Yeah I've tried that - it works fine but not as detailed as I want. Good place to start though so thanks :)

well, most equalizers that come with the audio driver also have only 8 to 10 bands so that's not very detailed either

Nope. Peace GUI is just an extension to the program. They should be easy enough to use. Check out the links in @Legendarypoet's post above.

I think the GUI is included as part of the default install, rather than needing to download it separately.
