Yeah that's what i guessed to.. finding an h77 here in my place is so hard lol

same here. i have an i3 3550 here but no board to put it in.

a solution might be to get the cheapest sandy bridge CPU you can possibly find (a crappy celeron will do) use that to update the bios and then put your ivy bridge i5 in

I got myself an i5 3570 and an ecs h61h2-m2 motherboard. i had initial problems with it because it wouldn't boot no matter what i do.. then i was told i needed to update the bios first but my problem is that i don't know where i can borrow a 2nd gen cpu to update the bios with.. so should i try to go through the trouble of trying to update the bios or just refund it back to the owner?

for real? how can a 2nd gen celeron be expensive? that i3 i mentioned hardly has any resell value today (as far as ebay.de is concerned) otherwise i would just have sold it and not even bother to get a new board for it.

but when i consider how much i originally paid for it, i don't really want to sell it for like 15 bucks or less.

well i kinda said it wrong.. its not that they're expensive but its hard to find a 2nd gen cpu for cheaps.. but i still managed to get my hands on an old pentium g630 to update the bios with for around $10
