GTA 5 always updates after trying to mod ?

Hey guys, every time i try to add car mods for GTA 5 single player it always updates when i go to play the game after installing the mod? Am i doing something wrong? I'm using Open IV to install the mods.

You need to use the mods folder. Otherwise it will redownload the .rpf file.

Right click gta v, select properties and then go to updates.
In the drop down tab that says always keep this game up to dat, select only update this game when I launch it.

I found this never really updates the game when I used to mod it.
