Is it normal to get stuttering / micro-stuttering if your GPU can get a stable framerate higher than your monitor refresh rate?

Let's say I get 150 rock solid fps in Rocket League when VSync is off and I'm using a 144 hz monitor, will enabling VSync cause stuttering / micro-stuttering / fps drops as well? Every game I played from 2012 and so on never drops your framerate half of your monitor refresh rate when VSync is on and your GPU can't render at that rate, so how it works now?

If your hardware achieves a frame rate higher than the refresh rate most of the time, all VSync will do is introduce more input lag since the next frame always needs to wait at least one refresh rate time.

Don't use vsync. Use fast sync or enhanced sync depending on the card you have

Try this trick using RTSS, but you gonna need latest RTSS/MSI AB though. Works for me, not only games is smoother now because of Vsync but the input lag is minimal to none too.

Vsync on in some games doesn't really hurt it.... but in some games Vsync makes me want to cease to exist and un-install the game. Thus the need for RTSS (MSI afterburner)

Can you please explain why? I'm not getting why I'm getting that stuttering / frame skipping, from my test to vsynctester sometimes it will detect 143.999.. sometimes 144.000... is it my monitor broken? Have you seen my video? I'm also getting a lot of stuttering problems on testufo...

I tried that Vsync web thing and mine is stable and I mostly just see a grey Vsync image. I don't see 2x vsync only a 1x vsync. Why do you have 2 of them?
