USB 3.0 Low speeds

Hi. My name is Rain.

 

Recently i bought myself a new PC (i7-7700, GTX 1060-6GB, 16GB Ram, Asus Strix 250F Gaming Mobo) but my Usb speeds are so low. Speeds reach about 10mb/s max.

So maybe you guys have an idea how to fix it. Also im using win10.

It all depends on what your transferring, and where you are transferring them to. What kind of storage devices are you using, what are you transferring from, i.e. micro sd cards, flash drives, external hdd's?

I have 250gb ssd and 2tb hdd, and that 10mb/s speed apply on both of them to usb 3.0 memory stick.

What kind of files are you transferring? Couple of large files, thousands of small programs? Have you tried to narrow down any other possible causes, such as different flash drive, or an external hdd? If not, if you are comfortable, you may want to start dive into the bios and check settings there.

first thing, look if yuu're transfering them to a usb 3.0 storage unit, because if youre transfering from a usb 3.0 port to a usb 1.0 storage unit dont expect much, if youre using a usb 3.0 stick, then maybe you didnt install the usb 3.0 drivers (my msi board has both a driver and a utility tool) or maybe your stick isnt the best build quaity and cant handle all that data transfer... try a different usb stick, and open task manager when you transfer the files, look if anything gets maxed out, cpu, ram, disk usage and such. did you try different usb 3.0 ports in you pc? both front and back of the case? i dont think theres much more to troubleshoot...

So far i've transfered video files about 4gb in size.

Yes i've tried installing new drivers from asus homepage.

And while transfering CPU usage is 3% and memory usage is 20%.

I've tried it before and it didnt work just like now. The speeds stay the same.

 

Edit: I just tried to transfer same file from usb stick to my pc and the speeds were 110mb/s.

          I can't understand what's wrong..

Have you tried writing files to the USB drive over USB3.0 on another computer? I've seen a TON of USB3.0 drives with fast read speeds, and absolutely shitty write speeds - some even slower than USB2.0 write speeds. Try the drive in another computer or try a different brand of USB3.0 drive.
