Is this fine?

So there is a 980ti for 100 dollars but theres an issue (see pic) Would this make it not work? Not sure if this applies to GPUs but I know in some components not every pin matters.

Might cause issues. That's one of the pins on the pcie power. It probably affects pcie power draw and so that would cause issues...

Oh ok. Wasnt sure about the pinout of the 980ti. Then yea probably not if its a power

Those are the PCIe power pins. Those are all needed. Do you know what happened?

The first eight pins on any GPU or AIC will be for PCIe power. They are all needed.

I've a feeling it won't work. But I also have a feeling you can fix it with some careful soldering and copper wire (just rewire that pin so it connects to the slot). If you can do that, it may work, but of course it may have other issues as well.

Ok I checked the pcie slot pinout. That pin is for 12v power from the pcie slot. There are four other pins for 12v power and all those are connected together so... it's POSSIBLE that you wouldn't actually have issues. At the same time though you may have issues, and that would probably result in more current draw through the other pins if it does actually work which could potentially lead to pins burning out.

Personally I would make a flux chart

 

[Do you have good soldering experience and the needed tools]

 -> No   -> Keep your $100

I dont personally but my dad has a soldering gun and such and I have had him solder things just fine (this might be a little small tho) But do you think not soldering it would be possible?

I would personally say unless you can confirm it works or the only problem is the pin isn't making proper contact don't get it.

The main problem is it's not even a guarantee that that's the only issue. If it is the only issue it probably wouldn't be too difficult to do a little mod and fix it but otherwise? Na...

I would ask for a benchmark to be run using the GPU. If you receive it and it doesn't work, you'll have e-mail (to your Ebay account) saying that the card does work. If it does work, yippee?
