So i have this hi fi audio system that has Bluetooth built in. So i can pair it with my phone and play audio tracks through the hi-fi speakers from my phone. Simple. Now, i want to do this with my pc instead of the phone so i can select and play a audio track in VLC or even Youtube and play it through the hi-fi speakers via Bluetooth. Is this at all possible? I'm on a windows 10 machine.

Assuming your computer has Bluetooth, then the answer is probably "yes". Just pair the speakers like you would with your phone, and play music.

For a more detailed guide you can check out the Microsoft article here.

TetraSky's post below me adds information on dongles. I was in a hurry yesterday and forgot to add that part. Sorry about that!

If your computer doesn't have bluetooth, you will need to get a USB BT dongle, like this cheap one. Just make sure you pick up a  BT 4.0 dongle, because there's a bunch of BT 2.0/3.0 dongles still being sold out there, which isn't great for compatibility issues with newer BT devices.

Otherwise, you just connect it like you would any other bluetooth device and windows should recognize it as a speaker without any issues.
