manufacturing tolerance of the case and/or the GPU created the gap.

solutions?   Beat   gently reshape the case inwards towards the GPU bracket, loosen the screws on the GPU bracket and shimmy it outwards.

this is purely a mechanical problem with a purely mechanical solution.

I dont really have any tools or skill to do that, is it possible to just put a longer screw through the holes or support the gpu in some other way? I also dont hate the idea of having my pc sideways until I am able to solve the issue, but I hear that it isnt completely safe to have a pc not meant to be sideways to be sideways

I cannot even begin tell you two how happy I am right now. I am extremely grateful to you both for your suggestions, because they encouraged me to try fitting the gpu again. For some extremely odd reason, this time it fit! It somehow went perfectly into Place, and seems to be working fine. I tried to fit it earlier today for 2 hours, and now it suddenly fit. The only thing that worries me now is 2 things: possible motherboard flex and too many frames per second. Thank you.
