Hi all,

I am relatively new to the PC scene and was hoping to get some tips for my first build. I already have a mouse and external hard drive, and my friend has offered me his MSI Z170A M5 motherboard. Other than those three things, I have to get everything else from a CPU to a monitor. I want the build to be able to run modern games (like GTA V and Fallout 4) at around 60 fps on high, cost around $1000, and be quiet. I have a build that I have been planning out, but I would very much appreciate your opinions on it and any ideas you have to make it quieter, cheaper, or run better.

Thanks in advance!

Seems like a nice build, but you may want to go with the Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. It's marginally cheaper. It may have slightly less same single threaded performance - but will destroy in multi-threaded games.

I would agree, but the issue is the motherboard. I believe that the motherboard I have is only compatible with Intel CPU's.

Throw out the i5 plan???

Perhaps i7 7700 non K

Honestly at this point I wouldn't recommend an i5 unless if the 7600K is under $180
