Hi All!

I have a build planned for the next year (still saving up, and it is liable to change). I have become interested in the idea of mounting a GPU vertically, to display that RGB goodness, and show off how stunning the card is. My card will likely be the Gigabyte GTX 1070 XTREME Gaming 8GB, and the case I am definitely buying is the Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 5. I have looked around on the internet, and I haven't been able to find any cumulative tutorials on the process of vertically mounting a card, nor any places in or around Australia where I can purchase the necessary components. If someone could explain this process, it would be greatly appreciated :)

What you would need is this adapter bracket:

Cool, exactly what I was looking for! How would this go into the case? Would it replace all slots?

Yes it's designed for that case so you take out all the PCI-E slots and use the bracket instead. Note the second one comes with the PCI-E extension which you'll need.

Great, thanks for answering! This seems a whole lot easier than the janky obscure tutorials I found on youtube :)

Some modding will still be required if you plan on using anything else in one of your free PCIe slots.

That's alright, I don't need any other cards.

Would this sort of thing work in cases (with 7 slots) other than the listed ones, if I were to cut out the horizontal bars in the way?  I was looking to mod in a vertical mount for my Lian Li PC-O9, and this was the first option I found.

If you have horizontal bars between the PCI-E slots your going to need to cut them out if you want to use that GPU adapter.

From looking at photos of the case it looks like your going to need to do some cutting.
