Help Me

Tom Cat

So I'm very OCD when I comes to organization, so for my build I'm using 4 drives drives 2 ssd's and 2 disk drives. I'm also using an m.2 ssd. While I was on pcpartpicker I got a error when It came to bandwidth. Here are what I'm using five drives for.

-960 evo 250gb ssd for OS, drivers and computer programs.

-evo ssd 500gb for games that I want fast boot times in.

-4tb we blue for bulk games

-250gb evo for important work

-2tb we blue for bulk work ECT

I was planning on having a sata controller to expand but I dont know if it will fix the bandwith error. If anyone has any better ideas when it comes to storage by all means tell me. But please help.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c2DQ4C

Sata controller (if you have a better one than please tell me)(I would prefer it have 4 internal ports and two external ports)

Are you buying all of this stuff, or is some of it left over from other builds?

Stay far away from that controller card.

Buying all, also can you recommend a controller?

One that supports SATA 3.

That board only has 4 SATA ports I think, and 1 is disabled if you use the 1st M.2 slot, so you don't have enough ports off the motherboard alone. That SATA controller is PCI, I don't think that board has any PCI slots, only PCIe. It's also old as fuck, SATA II and drivers only up to Windows 7 officially.

Yours faithfully

Any reason you need to have so many separate drives?

Would it not be better to use a large drive and not trust a shady controller?

Yes, I read the OP, but it seems like you could compromise and do fewer drives.

I'm like you when it comes to segregated storage, but I also have 60 lanes to play with.

I'll look this over again when I get some and see what can be done.
