Errrr... This might sound crazy but 158 USD is a lot of cash for earbuds. Overkill (IMO). I can only think of Shure or RHA in that price range. Most earbuds are under $50, and you can find something good for that price! I really like the Marshall Mode. But they're seriously under-budget at around $40.

158$ is probably just what gets him like a 100$ model and TBH there aren't a lot of IEMs or earbuds in that price range that is worth much.

OP I would either cheap out a lot like a pair of ZS5's and EQ the lower mids a little bit up and save up until you can get a really nice pair of IEMs OR get as kokakolia said Shure or RHA IEMs and deal with their not that detailed sound and then the lows that can be a bit "mushy" and generally fairly warm sound

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M
