Just wanted to show a picture of my slightly modified EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0. took of the noisy fans and stuck on(with zip ties) two 92mm fans from Arctic cooling. I just have them running at 100% and it's so much quieter. As I use it for mining dropping the power level to 90% loses me £0.02 per day but drops the temps 10°C. To 60-65. Going to try to drop it another 5% or so and try it.

Before anyone gets butt hurt, this card was given to me with a broken cooler fan. Meaning it ran one fan at 100%. Anyone who's has an ACX 2.0 cooler will know how noisy it is.

So I'm not the only one who thinks acx 2.0 fans are loud?!?

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Shouldnt this more be in general discussion/status updates?

I did struggle to decide whether this section or general, in the end I popped it here. I'm sure a mod will move it if needs be.

Not at all, with a custom fan curve you can get it to acceptable levels. Unfortunately on this cooler the fan with the tachometer didn't work, so the remaining fan with run at 100% constantly.
