  Hello guys,i have a problem,from the first day my i5 750 was clocked to 2ghz and not to 2.66,and i cant figure out why..I havent changed any settings and i want to run my chip at stock clock and NOT underclocked.Also i dont want to mess up with voltages and oc, just stock,but how??Thank you for your time!I have the GIGABYTE GA-P55M-UD2.

your cpu ran at 2 Ghz and now at 2,66Ghz. thats an overclock. look in the bios for the cpu mmultiplier. it must have been changed

then, the cpu multiplier must have changed. look in the bios for it

Are you saying it is running higher than it should be or the other way around?

 

Your CPU will underclock itself when possible to reduce power usage, temperatures and thus also heat.

Similarly it will also overclock itself when possible so you get better performance.

 

There is also thermal throttling, making the CPU run at a lower frequency when it's running too hot
