All PSUs can randomly fail anyways, and quality differs by unit. What unit did you have?

It is a CX750M, I was warned not to go with them and ignored it. All I really want to do with the PSU now is as cheap and reliable as I can get.

was it a green or grey lable? The green ones weren't very good, but the newer ones are

It was a green and the one they returned to me now is a grey, so fingers crossed that means this one will be a lot better. (I am not fully replacing my current PC as I will need one at my parents home and one at my Uni flat)
